I'm getting very excited for this trip to Nicaragua. What seems most impressive to me is that we're going to stay with host families, which is such a great opportunity to get a taste of the culture first hand.
I want to always travel. so far i've seen the beauty of the following countries:
1.brazil
2.ecuador
3. mexico
4. u.k. (england/scotland)
5. germany
6. portugal
Nicaragua is next
and after that I want to go to Spain, Thailand, Japan, Peru, Italy, Philippines ....
and the list continues.
after each trip i felt as if i grew somehow. as if i saw my life in a different perspective. seeing the world is the greatest gift.

this summer is looking more amazing then ever. first of all, i got the scholarship to go on that Nicaragua trip to assist in painting a mural with this artist that my mother said i met when i was about 5, because they were friends. I'm also going to Brazil at the end of july to see my wonderful brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and my father.
I'm also really excited about starting freshman year at Mass Art, the full scholarship was completely unexpected and overwhelmingly flattering. i couldn't be more happy.

soo i got accepted to the following schools:
1. NYU Tisch
2. Mass Art
3. MICA
4. Savannah College of Art and Design
5. San Francisco Institute of Art
6. School of Visual Arts (NY)
7. Sarah Lawrence College
and got rejected from Yale. ha
i want to go to NYU, but its so fucking expensive. so if someone wants to start a fundraiser for me, that would be great. and while your at it, find me a date to prom, because i need one. thanks a lot.

so I've returned home from a week of traveling from manchester, to scotland, and to london. i must say im not thrilled that im here again, with the realization that i have not done any work assigned over break. but im not worried, im feeling good. traveling does wonders.

we're going to Manchester...to Scotland..then finishing our trip in London. we're staying in these awesome hostels too

anyways apparently someone had a problem with my Egon Scheille background (a female nude painting) and referred to it as being "sick". well, i think its beautiful artwork and Egon is an amazing artist.
man...people need more culture.

ahh my yale class is over with finally and i feel so goood...and quiet..::sigh:: :)
paula asked me where i've been these past few weeks, and i realized how much time ive spent doing shit that doesn't involve having fun with friends..this is going to change right now. once i get my car back this week, nothing can stop me!
today i went swimming in gym and ended up just floating around with goggles and a snorkel for 45 mins...so meditative.
matt's coming over soon yay!

some new things going on in the life of Savana:
1. contemporary documentary film and video class at Yale which is very exciting/interesting/not too overwhelming.
2. every saturdays i meet up with some others at john keefer's apartment/printmaking studio where we are working on large scale wood cuts for this show at art space in the spring.
3. my car is dead....but will rise again in 2 weeks.
4. i waitress/bus tables at The Pantry every sundays. it pays insanely well, but the can be jerks... all the time.
5. there was an ECA gallery show last thursday which was quiet successful. I had some figure drawings up... or as i like to say "my three naked women".
6. I'M FINALLY GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET SOME PAINTINGS DONE! hooray for me.
7. possibly going to england with Tatiara in the spring.
... so as i review this fine list i've provide, i realize that none of it may seem all that exciting to most, but i can't remember the last time i've felt so fulfilled and satisfied with the fact that I'm constantly busy . FINALLY, I'm doing things that i enjoy and care about, which is a nice way to start the last year of high school.
